Mobilization through Kairos Course in Kinyarwanda:

After 10 years of translating the Kairos Course into Kinyarwanda, we have finally completed the translations of all the materials. Many participants needed the course in Kinyarwanda because they were high school graduates who did not get the chance to continue their studies at universities. We also had a few college students and graduates in the marketplace who chose to read the book in English. This course showed us the need for both English and Kinyarwanda books, but explanations and videos in Kinyarwanda brought a clear understanding of the materials.

Pictured above: We are thankful for the Kairos Course participants. May the Lord be glorified among the nations.

Outcomes of the Kairos Course:

After the course, we realized that we had three categories of participants:

  • Those needing foundational discipleship: We grouped them to meet for a Bible study to help them grow as Disciples of Christ.
  • Participants from the Anglican Church Remera Parish: They formed a group to practice praying for missionaries, supporting them, and sharing the Gospel with internationals in Kigali.
  • Participants from various churches: They will support missionaries through Tubasange initiatives.up your brand.

Few Quotes from the Kairos Course Kinyarwanda Participants:

“Amasomo ya Kairos coure yamfashije kumenya umugambi w’Imana ku buzima bwanjye ndetse no gusobanukirwa ubutumwa bwiza” (Kalisa Jimmy).

Kairos yatumye ngira umutwaro w’abataragetwaho n’ubutumwa bwiza. Nongeye kumva nitaye ku ntumbero y’Imana. Nashimishijwe no kubona abantu bafashe icyemezo cyo kuberaho Kristo, nemejwe n’Imana kubwabo yuko nanjye ngiye kubaho ku bwa Kristo” (Munezero Marie Louise).

“Nagize inyota yo guangiza ubutumwa bwiza abatabuzi. Nagize umwete wo gusengera abantu bataragerwaho n’ubutumwa bwiza. Nasobanukiwe umugambi Imana ifite kuri njye” (Uwineza Keren)

Mobilization Through Mission Awareness Seminars on University Campuses

We conducted one-day seminars or preaching in four colleges in partnership with GBU: INES-Ruhengeri, UR-Butare, IPRC-Tumba, and UR-Nyarugenge. Pacifique and Ardin facilitated these seminars, summarizing God’s big plan for all nations, focusing on the Great Commission, and encouraging students to reach out to international students, especially at the UR Medical School where there are more than two hundred students from Sudan. We also taught students how to reach Muslims by building friendships with them.

Outcomes of the Seminars:

    • Himbazimana Elysee Christian, President of GBU-UR Butare, wrote: “We understood that the Bible has one plan of redeeming all peoples. This is a purpose worthy to live for as Christians. We realized we could participate in this plan through prayer, giving, going, and mobilizing others. We made a plan to study missions regularly, pray for Rwandan missionaries consistently, and strategize on reaching the Sudanese students.”
    • Gashugi James, President of GBU-IPRC Tumba, wrote: “Personally, I decided to support one missionary financially. As GBU, we decided to take the Kairos course for a deeper understanding and to dedicate one day each week to sharing the gospel with our fellow students.”

Loving Muslims:

During the month of Ramadan, we mobilized prayer using the 30 Days of Prayer guide developed by Tubasange and Kairos Africa. We prayed for all the people groups our missionaries serve. At the end of Ramadan, we invited Muslim Background Believers (MBB) and those involved in the prayer for a time of fellowship to encourage everyone to reach out to our Muslim friends with the Gospel. We realized that MBB believers have different needs, including discipleship. Pacifique started a group of four people now meeting weekly for Bible study using the material “New Life in Christ.” One participant decided to support an MBB with financial needs monthly, as some have been rejected by their families and have various needs.

Prayer and Praise Points:

  • We thank God for the completion of the translation of the Kairos course in Kinyarwanda. Pray that it will be widely used to mobilize the body of Christ in Rwanda, especially in local churches.
  • We thank God for the healthy partnership between Tubasange and GBUR for mobilizing college students. Pray that students will maintain God’s vision and actively reach international students with the Gospel.
  • Keep praying for the Rwandan workers and those planning to go.
  • Pray for Tubasange to get more full-time and part-time mission mobilizers because the work is huge and the laborers are few. Pray for those who desire to join us full-time but lack the support they need.
Psalm 117:1 – “Praise the LORD, all you nations; extol him, all you peoples.”
