Initially, our plan was to send them to Tunisia, but through prayer and discernment\u2014together with their church\u2014it became clear earlier this year that God was leading them back to Guinea, where Ardin had previously lived.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>This deployment is significant in many ways:<\/strong> it&#8217;s the first time Tubasange is sending a couple with three children, and the first time we are sending missionaries to West Africa. Until now, most of our missionaries have been single at the time of deployment, and primarily sent within East Africa.\u00a0<strong>We see this as a sign that God is using the Rwandan Church to bless Francophone Africa\u2014especially since many Rwandans, like Ardin, are French speakers.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this newsletter, we share photos capturing Ardin and Nadine\u2019s journey of preparation, their commissioning service on July 19th, and their farewell event on July 31st. One of the key burdens on the hearts of Pacifique, Assumpta, and the Tubasange leadership team is to see the Rwandan Church actively engaging Muslims\u2014especially those from other nations who now live among us.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In partnership with\u00a0<em>Encountering the World of Islam<\/em>\u00a0(EWI), Tubasange hosted two prominent speakers:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li><strong>Dr. Keith Swartley<\/strong>\u00a0(USA), author of\u00a0<em>EWI<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>God\u2019s Love for Muslims<\/em>, and<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dr. Timothy Olonade<\/strong>\u00a0(Nigeria), who developed\u00a0<em>STEM<\/em>\u2014Strategic Training in Evangelizing Muslims<\/li>\n<li>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They led a three-day training of\u00a015 participants\u00a0and a one-day conference of around\u00a0200 participants\u00a0with the goal of equipping the Rwandan Church to befriend and witness to Muslims with love and intentionality.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We thank God for the powerful outcomes. Many participants overcame their fears and discovered new confidence in approaching Muslims with compassion. Several made commitments to pray weekly for their Muslim friends and intentionally connect with them.\u00a0Just this week, <strong>we rejoiced to hear that one of the Muslims whom Joseph had been befriending and praying for has come to faith in Christ!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pacifique and Assumpta continue building relationships with Sudanese students. In just two weeks, the students are already catching the fire! The program runs until September 7th, and God is clearly at work.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A major highlight for the students is the devotional\u00a0<em>Calling<\/em>\u00a0by Jeff Lewis, which has reshaped their understanding of life and mission.
